Government To Sell Kotoka Int. Airport To Foreign Private Company (Leaked Documents)

A leaked document available to Myxyzonline.com indicate that the Akufo-Addo led administration is allegedly planning to hand over the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) to a  foreign private company.

The secret document which is titled “Policy approval for the Ministry of Aviation to facilitate the engagement of TAV Airport Holding Company Limited for the management of the Kotoka International Airport” was allegedly drafted in March 2019 and is  yet to be presented to Cabinet for consideration before sent laid in Parliament for approval.

The draft when approved will see the transfer of the management of the country’s premier airport from the Ghana Airport Company Limited to TAV Airports Holding Company Limited.

According to the document available to Myxyzonline.com, “the reviews and discussions on the engagement of a private partner to manage the airport and the regulations to govern their activities and actions and their impacts have been discussed.”

Tension is brewing at the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL) over the new deal after some employees sighted the document.

A top official who spoke to XYZ News on condition of anonymity stated that the they will kick against steps to privatize the management of KIA to a foreign company.

He said “some of my colleagues who have heard the news are angry” and are willing to oppose the deal.
